CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A former Moss Bluff man is accused of aggravated sexual battery, according to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

Carl W. Lewis, 61, of Gonzales, formerly of Moss Bluff, is alleged to have had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile female on numerous occasions beginning in 1995 when the girl was 12.

Authorities said their investigation began Feb. 6 after receiving a complaint against Lewis.

"When questioned by detectives, Lewis confirmed some of the allegations," the release states.

Lewis was arrested Feb. 21. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Bond in the case is set at $35,000.
