CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -
If you want to vote in the April 6 election, now is the time to take care of voter business.
There's time to register to vote and update your address if you have moved, but the voter registration books close at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. If you mail in an application, it must be postmarked by March 6.
Calcasieu Registrar Angie Quienalty said people can call or come by to make sure they are good to go for the April 6 election.
"If you need to register to vote or if you need to change your address, change your name, change your party, or perhaps you were one of those people removed at the end of 2012. So, voter business needs to be taken care of now, before March 6 for them to be able to vote in the April election. They do have a number of things on the ballot. Obviously, the City of Lake Charles, some city councils on that race, we have the Town of Vinton. We also have a number of propositions on the ballot," she said.
You can find voter registration information for all Southwest Louisiana parishes HERE.
Early voting for the April 6 election will be from March 23 through March 30.
