Concerns mount over rabid skunks

Good Wednesday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a look at what's ahead on today's Sunrise:

*The recent confirmation of a rabid skunk in Calcasieu Parish has raised some concerns for those who can't seem to get rid of skunks on their property.  We'll tell you about trapping efforts to get the skunks under control.

*Many hunters in Louisiana help out the needy by donating meat.  A state health inspector ordered the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission to destroy $800 worth of deer meat.  We'll tell you why and what lawmakers are doing about it.

*A Lake Charles industrial company and its by-product is a little too close for comfort for some residents.  Hear from one woman who says the company behind her house is releasing black dust in the process of repacking petro coke.

*Congress has until Friday to stop the automatic cuts known as "the sequester."  We'll have a deeper look at its impact today.
