LEESVILLE, LA (KPLC) -

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will hold a public meeting on Monday to discuss roadway improvements along U.S. 171 in Vernon Parish.

The meeting will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Leesville Country Club at 331 Country Club Road.

DOTD representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

The $14.2 million project will resurface 6.6 miles of U.S. 171 between La. 10 and Leesville.

Officials said the project has been awarded to Prairie Contractors Inc. Work is expected to begin in March and will take about 18 months to complete.
