KILGORE, TX (KLTV) -
Multiple Navarro Junior College Basketball players were pepper sprayed Saturday night following a basketball game against the Kilgore College Rangers.
According to Chris Craddock, Coordinator of Public and Sports Information, the Rangers had defeated the Bulldogs and while the Rangers were celebrating, members of the Navarro Bulldog team tried to re-enter the court. An on-duty Kilgore College Police Officer tried to restrain the players from doing so. The players reportedly did not cooperate and were then pepper-sprayed by the officer in a nearby hallway.
The Kilgore College Chief of Police is investigating the incident. They have added that they will release a formal statement Monday.
No Kilgore College players or fans were involved in this incident.
