Wildlife officials investigating possible illegal hunting of deer

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for 7 News at Six.

It may be a case of progress forcing native wildlife to seek other areas to call home. A recent picture taken near L'auberge Casino and Resort shows a large deer in the area where construction is underway on a new casino. KPLC's Olivia Vidal is talking to Wildlife and Fisheries about their investigation and concerns that people may be illegally hunting the animals.

Also local artists and bakers teamed up to help HOBO Hotel care for cats. We take you out to the "Sweet Art" Event.

And what started out as an idea to open up a lemonade stand raised some big money today for St. Jude Children's Hospital.  We'll show the local cheerleaders who were busy paying it forward with each glass.

Plus, hope you're out enjoying this great Saturday weather. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes will tell us what to expect for our Sunday.

We hope you'll join us for all this and much more tonight on 7 News at Six. Until then we are always on at kplctv.com.
