CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -
A Sulphur man is accused of throwing wood and concrete debris off of the Fabacher Overpass on I-10 near Vinton, damaging vehicles and causing injuries.
According to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Dalton J. Jaquillard was booked on aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault charges.
Bond is set at $60,000.
Authorities said the arrest came after investigation into several reports of incidents in which Jaquillard allegedly threw pieces of broken concrete and wooden debris off the overpass.
"When questioned by detectives, Jaquillard confirmed that he performed these acts between Feb. 12 and 14," the release states.
Authorities said the debris struck vehicles that were traveling on I-10, which resulted in several injuries and over $10,000 in damages to 13 vehicles.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges and arrests are expected.
