Hitching a ride ... on a Great White shark!

Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

March 1st could be a very bad day for a lot of workers if automatic budget cuts kick in. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is telling Congress today that if those cuts take place, he may be compelled to furlough 800,000 civilian workers. We'll take a look at how those cuts could impact the nation.

Hey lady, where are you going with that table? We'll tell you about a woman who police say just walked out of a store with plants, several pillows, spray paint, an area rug, comforter sets…and yes, a table…without paying.

Also today, do you feel a little depressed at night? It might be caused by something you drank during the day. Something that a lot of us consume every day for a pick-me-up could actually be bringing us down.

Plus, do you know which fees your bank is charging? We'll tell you about some recent changes and offer some advice to help you avoid those extra charges.

You could get a real charge out of an encounter with a great white shark. Imagine hitching a ride with just such a creature. Well one woman can be seen on tape latching on to a shark's dorsal fin for a little ride. Would you do it? Check out her stunning adventure HERE.

It looks as though we'll have some adventurous weather in the forecast. Our cloudy skies today will make for cool conditions – our highs will only reach to near 60 later this afternoon. Stray showers are possible tonight, but the real rain show should be tomorrow. Ben tells me a front will approach the area tomorrow afternoon and numerous showers and storms are expected with some severe weather with hail and tornadoes possible. He's preparing his live, local forecast right now so be sure to tune in for all the details at noon. In the meantime, you can always go HERE for up-to-the minute weather information 24/7.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!
