This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom. The Port of Lake Charles has proved to be a huge energy corridor. And now the Cameron Liquified Natural Gas Facility in Hackberry wants to expand... With support from the Port and local government agencies. All it needs now is approval from the federal government. We'll have a report tonight on the big plans for expansion that could mean thousands of jobs.
Also tonight... They don't want to see the type of flooding they saw in January in Lake Arthur. Last month's flooding prompted calls for action. The Police Jury voted to ask the Corp of Engineers to install weirs at the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge to relieve the floodwaters nd to repair the Catfish Locks which was damaged by Hurricane Rita.
