This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom. The Port of Lake Charles has proved to be a huge energy corridor. And now the Cameron Liquified Natural Gas Facility in Hackberry wants to expand... With support from the Port and local government agencies. All it needs now is approval from the federal government. We'll have a report tonight on the big plans for expansion that could mean thousands of jobs.
Also tonight... They don't want to see the type of flooding they saw in January in Lake Arthur. Last month's flooding prompted calls for action. The Police Jury voted to ask the Corp of Engineers to install weirs at the Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge to relieve the floodwaters nd to repair the Catfish Locks which was damaged by Hurricane Rita. Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of stealing ATVs in Calcasieu and Jeff Davis parishes, authorities say. On Nov. 26, the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff's Office received a complaint of a stolen Honda ATV. Patrol deputies, with the assistance of the Welsh Police Department, located the ATV in Welsh, said Cmdr. Ramby Cormier, JDSO spokesman.More >>

A Texas man is dead after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning while walking on La. 12 in Starks. At 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on La. 12 near Old River Road, about 4.5 miles east of the Texas state line, said Sgt.
