Sam Houston football players promote reading

MOSS BLUFF, LA (KPLC) - Sam Houston football players are working to promote reading.

It's called "Riding with a Bronco." The players gathered at Gillis Elementary School in Moss Bluff on Tuesday to read to the children and promote positive behavior.

They are reading children's books to Pre-K through 5th grade classes at Gillis and Holy Family Catholic Elementary School.

Each book the players read teaches a lesson on positive moral values like standup to peer pressure, having the courage to do the right thing and having good self-esteem.

The players will also personally invite the students to Sam Houston's purple and gold football game at the end of May to have them cheer for their favorite Bronco.
