HELLO EVERYONE. THIS IS CYNTHIA ARCENEAUX FROM THE KPLC NEWSROOM. A DEADLY CRASH ON INTERSTATE TEN TONIGHT. IT HAPPENED IN THE WEST BOUND LANES JUST WEST OF THE WELSH EXIT.. STATE POLICE SAY AN 18-WHEELER AND A CAR WERE INVOLVED IN A CRASH THAT LEFT ONE PERSON DEAD. WE'LL BRING YOU ALL THE DETAILS TONIGHT AT TEN.

ALSO... IT'S A CASE THAT DISTURBED THE COMMUNITY... A LAKE CHARLES WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH IN HER DONUT SHOP. NEARLY 15 YEARS LATER HER MURDER REMAINS UNSOLVED. TONIGHT KPLC'S LEE PECK IS HOPING THIS COLD CASE CAN BE SOLVED WITH HELP FROM SOMEONE OUT THERE IN THE PUBLIC.

AND TODAY, THERE WAS A NEW TRIBUTE TO A LOCAL WAR HERO. FIRST LIEUTENANT DOUGLAS FOURNET DIED IN ACTION SERVING IN VIETNAM IN 1968. THERE ARE OTHER MEMORIALS THROUGHOUT ALLEN PARISH DEDICATED TO FOURNET. BUT THE ONE UNVEILED AT THE KINDER MCRILL CEMETARY TODAY MARKS WHERE THE DECORATED WAR VETERAN IS BURIED.
