Triumph Investigation

Good afternoon... This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom.  A Coast Guard official says the cause of the engine-room fire on the Carnival cruise ship Triumph was a leak in a fuel oil return line.  In a teleconference Monday, Commander Theresa Hatfield estimated that the investigation of the disabled ship would take six months.

The Lake Charles Civic Center is gearing up for tomorrow's big "Hiring Our Heroes" job fair. It's scheduled for 9:00 A.M. Until Noon, at the Civic Center Exhibition hall. The purpose of the event is to provide job opportunities for veterans and their spouses. So if you know of a military vet or their spouse in need of employment, pass the word along to them.

And a memorial is planned for tomorrow for a pilot killed in a plane crash last week. The crop duster went down Friday in a field south of Jennings. Jeff Davis sheriff's deputies identified the pilot as 52 year old William Precht Junior. Sheriff Ivy Woods says it appears the plane snagged a line connected to a nearby communications tower. Memorial services for Precht are planned for 10 A.M. Tuesday.
