BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Just one week after a federal judge agreed to cut short
former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards' court supervision following his release
from prison, his wife announces that they are expecting a baby.
She made the announcement via Facebook Friday. She wrote "As of today I am officially allowed
to make that announcement I've been dying to make...WE ARE EXPECTING!! I still
pretty sick, but I'm in my 12th week so hopefully I will be feeling better soon
and we will be able to resume filming!"
A reality television show about the 85-year-old Edwards and
his 34-year-old wife, Trina Scott Edwards, is scheduled to debut later this
month on A&E.
Edwards was sentenced to three years of supervised release,
however, he only served 18 months of that before a judge agreed to end it
early.
Edwards served eight years in federal prison and six months of home
detention after he was convicted in 2000 for his role in a riverboat casino
licensing scandal.
