Trouble At Sea

This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC newsroom. Here are some of the stories we're working on for 7news Nightcast. That Carnival cruise ship is now just a few miles from dock in Mobile, Alabama. But it will still be a few more hours before the 3100 passengers can get away from the deplorable conditions they've had to live with since Sunday. KPLC's Gerron Jordan will be reporting live from Mobile.

And a major workforce reduction could be looming at Fort Polk. Officials say reductions in troops at Fort Polk would essentially destroy the economy of Leesville and Vernon Parish... And hurt the entire state.

And a guilty verdict in the rape of a 94 year old Dequincy woman. Late this afternoon, Judge Ron Ware found Gabe McKeel Jr. guilty of breaking into a Dequincy home and raping the elderly resident. McKeel will be sentenced March 1st.  Those stories and more, Plus Wade Hampton's forecast into the weekend... tonight at ten on Nightcast.
