SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
A Shreveport teacher is behind bars accused of sexually assaulting a mentally challenged student, says Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.
33-year-old Jeremy A. Pierce of Keithville, a teacher at Port City Christian Academy on Greenwood Road in Shreveport, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Pierce is charged with aggravated rape, sexual battery, and sexual conduct between educator and student.
Pierce was arrested after an investigation into allegations the he acted inappropriately with the teen-aged student.
Detectives says Pierce called the victim out of class several times via text messages and committed a sexually battery on her while on school grounds and also while driving her home from school.
