The high school basketball playoff brackets come out tomorrow, and we have several local teams gearing up for long runs in the postseason.

On the boys side, the Washington-Marion Charging Indians are the champions of District 4-4A and are currently ranked #6 in the state 4A power rankings.

Other local teams who should hear their names tomorrow include Westlake and South Beau, which are both ranked in the top 20 in 3A, Pickering and Rosepine in 2A, and Elton and Hamilton Christian in Class 1A.

On the girls side, the Sulphur Lady Tors have been a powerhouse this season, finishing the regular season 22-and-3 and sweeping through district 3-5A with a perfect 12-and-0 record. Sulphur is ranked #6 in the latest 5A power rankings.

In class 4a, the DeRidder Lady Dragons and district champ St. Louis should get high playoff seeds, along with the South Beau girls in 3A, the #3 ranked Pickering Red Devils and Lake Arthur in 2A, and Merryville in Class 1A.

The girls playoffs begin next monday and the boys tip off their postseason next Tuesday the 19th.
