Forever Families: Lyndell

Unlike most 13-year-old boys, you won't find him on a football field or a basketball court. Lyndell is right where he likes to be – among the thousands of books at the library. Yes, you heard right, a 13-year-old who actually likes to read.

"I like reading because you can learn from it and learn new words. Things I like reading is stuff with magic in it," Lyndell said.

And on top of that, he's already got his future plans mapped out. Lyndell wants to be a video game designer. So, he's hitting the books hard in math and science.

"I want to be a video game designer to make video games that everybody would like something pertaining to teach you something," he said.

Lyndell is one of the hundreds of children currently in the state's foster care system in the Lake Area. The goal is to find a family willing to adopt them and give them a permanent home.

"It makes me feel sad because every child should have a family, including myself. All children should not be abandoned. They should always have somebody who loves them," he said.

If you're interested in adoption a child in foster care, an adoption specialist is waiting to hear from you. It could make a difference in a child's future.
