St. Louis Boys Beat Bolton, Advance to State Semis

st. louis soccer over bolton

Things seem to be falling into place for the St. Louis boys soccer team.

As the #2 seed in Division II, the Saints won their first playoff game and got the good news that top seed Alexandria had lost, leaving the Saints as the highest-seeded team remaining in their bracket.

Tonight a tough quarterfinal match against the seventh-seeded Bolton Bears.

St. Louis ahead 1-nil in the 2nd half, but Dril Mboungou finds Chris Auzenne, he finds the back of the net and we are tied at 1-all with 26 minutes left.

Saints come back Andrew Ammons the corner kick and GOL GOL GOL GOL... That's Jon Lorio and St. Louis goes back on top 2-to-1.

Key play right here, after a scrum in front of the St. Louis goal, Aaron Williams appears to score but the goal is disallowed by the referee, offsides is the call.

And less than 2 minutes later, it's Andrew Ammons again and it's Jon Lorio again.

3-1 Saints and let the celebration begin! Ooff! Nice tackle in the open field.

The Saints are on to the final 4.

St. Louis will play Vandebilt Catholic this Saturday the 16th in Houma in the state semifinals of the Division II playoffs.
