Josh Prince helped Barbe High School win a state championship, then played big time college baseball at Texas and Tulane before being drafted by Milwaukee in 2009.
After 4 years in the minor leagues, Prince is about to get his first real chance to make it to the Show.
The Brewers added Prince to their 40-man roster last fall and invited him to come to spring training with the big league club.
Prince is home in Lake Charles today, but he leaves Wednesday morning to drive to Phoenix with hopes of being one of the 25 Brewers who will leave camp as big leaguers.
"I got the call and that was the last day they could put new players on the 40-man roster, and so I thought I might be getting that call," Prince said. "And when I saw that it was a phone call from Wisconsin, my brother and I just started high-fifing each other before I even answered, and it was a short conversation, it just said congratulations, we'd like to invite you to big league camp."
