LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

The Merchants' Parade proved to be a lot of fun Friday in Lake Charles for the float riders and the parade goers.

As the floats lined up waiting to roll down Ryan Street, the people were getting anxious for the parade to begin.

"It's a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be already and we haven't even got started so I'm looking forward to actually rolling," said first time float rider Somer Brown.

"We're ready to throw some beads!" Gerald Kratcer, another float rider, said.

Lot's of music, costumes and plenty of throws at the Merchants' Parade.
