Japanese energy company, Cameron LNG ink export deal

CAMERON PARISH, LA (KPLC) - More local natural gas is headed overseas.

Japanese energy company TEPCO says it has made a deal with Cameron LNG in Hackberry to import 800,000 tons of liquid natural gas a year, starting in 2017.

The deal is for 20 years.

This is the latest in a string of local LNG export deals.

Cheniere Energy, on the Cameron coast, has already signed multi-billion dollar deals to export natural gas to Britain, Spain and India.
