LEESVILLE, LA (KPLC) -
A public meeting to review the Vernon Parish Transportation Master Plan will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Vernon Parish Police Jury administration building at 300 South 3rd Street in Leesville.
Officials said the purpose of the meeting will be to share the draft Vernon Parish Transportation Master Plan.
Officials said transportation master plans assist communities in receiving state and federal transportation funding. They also determine community priorities about the way funds will be spent, officials added.
The Transportation Master Plan is separate from the recently completed Vernon Parish Comprehensive Plan, but draws upon that planning effort, according to officials.
Additionally, at 7 p.m., following the master plan meeting, there will be a meeting to review the U.S. 171 Corridor Evaluation Study.
Officials said the purpose of this meeting will be to share the draft U.S. 171 Corridor Evaluation Study results.
