Mardi Gras garbage collection schedules, closures announced

The following garbage collection schedules have been announced for Southwest Louisiana:

Garbage collection schedules:

CITY OF LAKE CHARLES

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules, officials said.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator, will resume regular operations on Wednesday, Feb. 13, officials said.

Officials said all other services of the Department of Public Works and other City departments will resume regular working hours on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

CALCASIEU PARISH

All parish departments will reopen Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Garbage and trash pickup will run as normally scheduled for Waste Management and Jim Bill customers.

The Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers, located on the east and west sides of the parish, are normally closed on Tuesday and Wednesday already and will run as normally scheduled Thursday through Monday from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

LAFAYETTE:

Tuesday through Friday customers will receive garbage and recycling service the day following their regularly scheduled collection day for the week of Mardi Gras.

The adjusted schedule includes regular Friday customers receiving garbage and recycling collection on Saturday, Feb. 16. 

SULPHUR

Officials said there will be no interruption to the residential garbage/trash collection schedule.
