GREENVILLE, SC (WYFF) - Police have released more details about the death of a 3-year-old who was killed by a gunshot wound to the head Friday night.
Coroner Jeff Fowler said Temorej Smith died at Cross Pointe in the
Plantations at Haywood apartment community in Greenville.
Fowler ruled the death accidental, following an autopsy Saturday morning.
Monday, police said the child and his 7-year-old sister were playing
with a pink handgun, they thought was a toy, when the shooting happened.
Fowler said that the child was in the bedroom and his grandparents were in the living room when the gun went off.
Fowler said the child's parents were not in the home.

arrived at the apartment just before 8 p.m. Friday, they found the young
child that had been shot.
