Mardi Gras Boardwalk plan moves forward

It's a rainy Tuesday morning, but the sun's shining with the Sunrise crew today!  Here's what we have in store on this morning's newscast:

*A new development in the ongoing effort by the City of Lake Charles to sell the old Harrah's property to Mardi Gras Boardwalk.  We'll update you on the latest idea and when it will go to the city council for a vote.

*Governor Bobby Jindal is pushing a proposal to raise taxes on tobacco.  The administration is floating the idea to lawmakers as part of a plan to get rid of the state's income tax and increase sales tax.

*Residents who live near Sasol's facility near Westlake can expect to hear a low-flying helicopter tomorrow and Thursday.  We'll tell you how it will be gathering aerial topographic images and when you can expect to see it.

*We dive deep into a cold case this morning, involving a man that was killed at the start of the new millennium in Lake Charles.

*Meteorologist Ben Terry is tracking the radar this morning that is showing a lot of rain.  We'll see when it will taper off.

Make it a Sunrise day!
