RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Authorities have identified the victims killed in an accident three miles north of Henderson on Highway 259 around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Department of Public Safety Trooper Jean Dark, Liradone Bojkaj, 14, and Mergimtare Bojkaj, 17, were killed when the Honda SUV they were riding in overturned.

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office says the vehicle swerved to miss an object in the road. The driver, 33-year-old Hava Shala lost control of the vehicle, which then flipped.

Liradone was partially ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was taken to Rader Funeral Home in Henderson. Mergimtare was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, where she died.

Hava was hospitalized along with Bennie Shala, 37, who was also in the front seat. A fifth passenger, 19-year-old Murteza Bojkaj, was in the back seat with his sisters when the accident occurred. Murteza is at a Tyler hospital. Bennie and Hava were taken to a hospital in Henderson.

Murteza was in good condition as of Monday afternoon.

Liradona and Mergimtare were both involved in athletics at Kilgore ISD. Mergimtare was on the track team at Kilgore High School. Her younger sister, Liradona, was a member of the Maude Laird Middle School tennis team.

There are grief counselors at both campuses today.

The bodies of the victims have been transported to Rahama Funeral Home in Dallas.

The investigation is ongoing.
