LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
Lake Charles Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a gas station on Tuesday.
Authorities said officers responded to the incident at around 9:23 p.m. Tuesday at the Valero at 1129 Highway 171.
Authorities said the investigation revealed that 52-year-old Donald Ray Pitre, of Lake Charles, entered the store, demanded money from the clerk and threatened her life with a gun if she did not cooperate.
Authorities said Pitre then left the store when two customers entered.
The suspect was arrested in close proximity after leaving, according to authorities.
