LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Lakefront development was just one of the things to talk about at the Southwest Louisiana Chamber's Annual Banquet on Tuesday night.
There is also the growing number of high-dollar projects that are starting soon, officials have said.
"We're posed here in Southwest Louisiana for fantastic economic growth. You're going to see the beginning of economic development projects and new industrial plants beginning in the later part of the year. A lot of jobs will be created at the end of this year and starting into 2014, it will really get into high gear. We are on the verge of an economic year and we will have a great year in 2013," said George Swift, president and CEO of the Southwest Economic Development Alliance.
Swift said the new developments will give Southwest Louisiana an even bigger role in providing energy to the nation.
