VINTON, LA (KPLC) -

A Vinton man is facing charges of simple robbery and resisting an officer after an incident in Vinton on Sunday.

Vinton Police Chief Rick Fox said 46-year-old Scott Frye was arrested following a report of a robbery attempt at the M & K Pantry on Hwy. 90.

Fox said one of his officers responding to the scene spotted Frye go into an apartment.

After a standoff lasting more than five hours, Frye was eventually taken into custody, authorities said.

Frye's bond was set at $110,000.

Fox said Frye was released Monday night from a local hospital and was transported to the Calcasieu Correctional Center by Vinton police.
