CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A Moss Bluff man is accused of fourth offense DWI, according to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said on Jan. 26, at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a store parking lot on Highway 14.

Authorities received a complaint of a possible drunk driver who was swerving all over the road.

Deputies found Mark A. Bearby, 28, the reported driver, going in and out of consciousness with his foot reportedly on the brake pedal with the car still in gear.

Authorities said Bearby advised the deputy that he had consumed prescription pills earlier in the day, for which he had no prescription.

Authorities said after performing poorly on the standard field sobriety test, Bearby, who has had three DWI arrests since 2005, was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI, fourth offense.

Bond was set at $40,000.
