Disappearing cemeteries

Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

We hope to learn more about the victims in a double murder and double attempted murder case out of St. Mary Parish over the weekend. Officials are releasing the names of the officer killed and deputies involved in Saturday's shooting. A 48-year-old Charenton man has been charged in the shootings and on a count of arson. Two deputies remain in stable condition at hospitals in Lafayette and New Orleans.

In business news, we'll tell you about the merger between PPG's commodity chemical business and Georgia Gulf. You can also read more about that HERE.

Also today, we'll show you how thousands of acres of land in Louisiana are disappearing due to coastal erosion … and that includes some of our oldest cemeteries.

Plus, we'll have the story of one special dog who is credited with saving its owner from an invisible danger.

Ben tells me the clouds will stick around today, as our temperatures climb to the upper 70's this afternoon. Rain creeps back into our forecast by tomorrow, but how much rain can we expect – and what about our temperatures as we get into the week? Ben's working on that forecast right now, so be sure to join us at noon. You can always find out more about weather HERE.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!

As a working mom, Tyffani Granger believes the Community Eligibility Provision, or CEP program, is a huge relief. "I have kids involved in football, in gymnastics, in scouts.
