CROWLEY, LA (KPLC) -
Crowley Police have arrested a Baton Rouge woman and are seeking another woman accused of felony theft by fraud.
Authorities said the alleged incident happened over three weekends during this month.
"The females were using a payroll card and were traveling to various cities along Interstate 10. In all, four cities were targeted by the suspects. The suspects were aware of the business procedure and would confuse the clerk during the transaction," said Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson. "Once the suspects confused the clerks, they were able to obtain funds which were not available on the card."
Lykendra Givens, 32, was booked in the Acadia Parish Jail on two counts of felony theft.
Gibson said Crowley Police have also secured arrest warrants for Ebony Givens, also of Baton Rouge.
Crowley Police are working with Baton Rouge Police in locating Givens, Gibson said.
