SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

The suspect in the shooting in north Sulphur has been apprehended, according to authorities.

The shooting happened at a home at 427 Bankens Road in north Sulphur around noon Friday.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office authorities say the alleged shooter is 42-year-old Chad Dean Peshoff. Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kim Myers said he is being charged with attempted second-degree murder.

The victim is reportedly Peshoff's father.

The victim has been airlifted to a hospital. The victim's condition is unknown, however, KPLC is told he is undergoing surgery for injuries to the upper-torso.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Anti-Crime and Tactics (ACT) Team responded.

Sheriff Tony Mancuso spoke to KPLC near the scene on Friday afternoon.

"When deputies got there, we had a victim that had been shot ... what appears to be shot by his son. He appears to have shot his father with a shotgun. Mom and Dad are out of the house," Mancuso said.

According to authorities, a motive for the shooting is unknown.
