A 17-year-old and two juveniles are accused in the theft of a cash box at a local school fundraiser.
According to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, Darterious Bartie and two 16-year-olds are all facing a charge of robbery.
Authorities said on Jan. 15, at approximately 1:35 p.m., deputies were dispatched to LaGrange High School regarding a robbery.
Upon arrival, deputies were told that while school staff members were selling plate lunches at the concession area to raise funds for the baseball team, a student ran up and grabbed the cash box and fled on foot.
The box contained an undisclosed amount of cash.
After a week-long investigation, detectives arrested Bartie, of Lake Charles, and the two juveniles, all students at the school.
Bartie was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and the two juveniles were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
