LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal has put the case of Dr. Peter LaFuria on hold until it considers whether certain evidence should be allowed in the case.
LaFuria is accused of taking nude pictures of patients without their knowledge or consent.
He is appealing a ruling that allows certain evidence to be used against him.
LaFuria does not want evidence taken from his truck used.
Defense Attorney Glen Vamvoras argued that items in the truck were not covered by the search warrant.
However, First Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Killingsworth said the law is in the state's favor and she expects the evidence, which included explicit photos of patients, to be allowed.
LaFuria faces 267 counts in 14th Judicial District Court.
