Gospel Extravaganza honors Dr. King's legacy

Good Evening,

Lee Peck from the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for Nightcast.

As Washington prepares for tomorrow's inaugural celebrations we'll show you what went on today as President Barack Obama officially took the oath of office for his second term.

Plus, tomorrow the nation also celebrates Martin Luther King Day. At this hour the MLK Festival Gospel Extravaganza honoring Dr. King's legacy is still underway in Lake Charles. KPLC's Gerron Jordan has this story.

Also more on the Lake Charles man accused of beating his girlfriend and killing her dog.

And we've told you a lot about that large sinkhole in Assumption Parish. Tonight, we'll tell you why scientists believe it could get even bigger.

In terms of weather this weekend has been nothing short of amazing. No complaints here! Meteorologist Cedric Haynes has your forecast and how long this cooler weather plans on sticking around.

We'll see you tonight at ten. Until then remember we are always on at kplctv.com.
