Memorial announces Board of Trustees for 2013 - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

The Southwest Louisiana Hospital Association, which operates as Lake Charles Memorial Health System, is pleased to announce its Board of Trustees for fiscal year 2013. As the only locally governed community hospital in Lake Charles, Memorial relies on community leaders in finance, media, public policy and business to volunteer their time and talents.

"These healthcare advocates fulfill their fiduciary roles by sitting on compliance, audit, finance and compensation committees," said Larry Graham, Memorial's President and Chief Executive Officer. "These committees are subject to external reviews by accounting firms, as well as audits by state and federal agencies and bodies like The Joint Commission that review the actual delivery of patient care."

 Installed during the board's annual meeting, the newly elected officers and directors are:

State Appellate Court Judge Gene Thibodeaux serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Southwest Louisiana Hospital Association, which operates as Lake Charles Memorial Health System.

Denise Emerson Rau, President of Rau Financial Group, will serve as chairman-elect of the Lake Charles Memorial Health System Board of Trustees.

Dr. Bryan Barootes, a family medicine physician with Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Center, serves on the Memorial Health System Board of Trustees as president of the medical staff.
