Officials: Levee in Lake Arthur in danger of breach

JEFF DAVIS PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Due to rising flood waters, Jeff Davis Parish Office of Emergency and Preparedness officials are advising residents in low-lying areas in Lake Arthur to prepare for possible flooding.

Officials say a levee there is in danger of breach.

Lake Arthur Mayor Robert Bertrand said a meeting will be held Saturday in the town to discuss the danger from rising flood waters.

Officials are holding a community meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Arthur Community Center on 8th Street.
