Fire at Chemical Waste Mgmt. Plant, plus more school closures

It's Friday!  Woohoo!  Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom with a preview of what's in store on today's Sunrise.

*Multiple fire crews are working to contain a fire at the Chemical Waste Management Plant on John Brannon Road off Highway 108 in Carlyss.  The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office tells us they are in contact with a HAZMAT crew about the status of the situation there.

*With floodwaters still lingering in parts of Southwest Louisiana and Acadiana, more schools are canceling classes today.  There will be no school in Jeff Davis Parish and Acadia Parish.  Cameron Parish will not have classes - but that's because of the Fur and Wildlife Festival.

*What do you think about eliminating state income taxes?  The proposal from Governor Bobby Jindal is still in its early stages.  Find out how it could raise sales taxes in return.

*In Washington this morning, more meetings are set for today for Vice President Joe Biden's gun task force.  We'll tell you where the debate with the NRA is expected to go today.

Make it a Sunrise day!
