Good Thursday morning to you! Britney Glaser here in the KPLC 7Newsroom, where it's already an active morning with the threat of flooding continuing across Southwest Louisiana.
*Today on Sunrise we will have extended forecasts with Meteorologist Ben Terry, letting us know how much longer this rain will last and when the floodwaters will recede.
*Some area schools are canceled today. We will keep you posted as we check in with parish school boards. Right now, schools in Jeff Davis Parish, Lafayette Parish and Acadia Parish are NOT in session.
*Other news headlines this morning include a $2 million budget cut from the state for the Department of Children and Family Services. Find out how that will affect local shelters that help men and women that are victims of domestic violence, as well as after-school programs.
