School Bus Driver Arrested

This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC newsroom. A school bus driver has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk. State Police say 26 year old Matthew Richard of Sulphur was pulled over south of Dequincy this morning, after dropping children off at school. Troopers say Richard had been weaving along Highway 27. Fortunately no children were on board the bus at the time they arrested him.

A federal judge in New Orleans has scheduled a meeting on February 14th to decide whether to accept a criminal settlement against Transocean Limited over the company's role in the 2010 Gulf oil spill. Transocean agreed last Thursday to pay 400 million dollars in criminal penalties and pleaded guilty to violating the Clean Water Act.
