MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -
Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a suspect who was tased less than an hour before his death by Marshall Police.
MPD officers responded to a disturbance call at E. Houston and Scroggins Streets around 8:30p.m. Friday when they say an uncooperative, naked man approached them.
Police struggled with the man, identified as 32-year-old Marcus Dewayne Slade, before tasing him.
Slade was arrested and taken to the Harrison County Jail for disorderly conduct, assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest.
At 8:52p.m. police say an ambulance was called to the jail when Slade became unresponsive. He was pronounced dead by a Harrison County Justice of the Peace and an autopsy has been ordered.
