Lake Charles police are looking for a suspect they say shot at a police officer on New Year's. It happened in the 3600 block of Texas Street shortly after midnight. The officer was responding to a report of gunfire in the area.
You remember when General Motors shut down its Hummer assembly plant in Shreveport? Well looks like Shreveport could be back in the car making business. Caddo Parish officials say the former General Motors assembly plant has a buyer that plans thousands of vehicle assembly jobs with good pay. Assistant Parish Administrator Randy Lucky says the buyer expects to bring 1,500 jobs by the end of the second quarter and 3,000 within four years.@
And students who attended Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., are back in class today. But in a different building in a different town.
