Casino Changing Hands

Hello everyone. This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC newsroom. Hope you had a safe and happy New Year. Here's a look at some of the stories we're working on in the 7newsroom. You've heard about yet another change of ownership of the new casino that's being built in Lake Charles. Over the holidays, we learned of Ameristar selling the casino back to Pinnacle Entertainment. But it's not a done deal just yet. We'll get you up to date on what's happening.

And two teenagers are facing armed robbery charges after a hold-up last night in the area of North Highway 171 and Graham Street. Investigators say the boys took out a handgun and robbed a man while he was walking.

A Starks man was killed early on New Year's day when his car crashed on the Evangeline Highway. The driver is identified as 40 year old Alvin Hodges. Police say he crossed the center line and struck a culvert and flipped over. Hodges died at the hospital. Join me today at Five and Six for the latest.
