Active shooting scene being worked in Lake Charles

Happy Friday to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at some of the stories you will see on today's Sunrise:

*We have a news crew at the area of the I-10 overpass at the Opelousas Street exit where the Lake Charles Police Department is working a shooting.  Details are coming in and we will keep you posted on the situation.

*The City of Lake Charles wants to make a few changes when it comes to parking in the downtown area for parades and other events.  Find out the details on the proposed ordinance and how to avoid having your vehicle towed.

*A new police station could soon be on the way for Westlake.  We will hear why Mayor Dan Cupit describes the current one as "falling apart."

*Improvements are coming to a Broad Street cemetery in Lake Charles where some of the graves are in such disrepair that human remains are exposed.  Hear what the plan is to fix the broken graves.

*Rain is lightly falling in some parts of the area right now.  Meteorologist Ben Terry will let us know how long that will last and how our weekend is shaping up.

    Nationally, according to the FBI, only 64% of homicide cases are solved but the Lake Charles Police Department has had only two cold cases since 2001.
