Car slams into parked train, driver walks away

Good morning, SWLA.

I'm Holly Carter in for Agnes DeRouen on this Christmas Eve. Here's a look at what's coming up on 7 News at Noon.

An early morning crash south of Lake Charles is raising questions about railroad crossings. The accident happened just after midnight when a car wrecked into a parked train on Tank Farm Road near Tom Hebert Road. Several agencies were on scene, and we'll have more on the incident at noon.

Also, an interactive experience of Louisiana will soon be available in Sulphur. The Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors' Bureau says an Interpretive Visitor Center is being planned, complete with a hands-on alligator station.

And meteorologist Ben Terry will be in the Stormcenter updating us on the possibility of severe weather tonight and tomorrow on Christmas Day.

Be sure to join us is just under an hour for 7 News at Noon! You can also watch us online at www.kplctv.com. Have a great Christmas Eve!

A few scattered showers this afternoonA few scattered showers this afternoon

We will start today with partly cloudy skies, building up for scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon. Rain chances are up to 40% today, so we should not see as much rain as yesterday. Most of the rain will come to an end by the late afternoon. After sunset, rain chances will go back down to zero percent overnight with mostly clear skies. In between any showers, we will have warm temperatures for southwest Louisiana.
