DeRidder boy being laid rest

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck from the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on for 7 News at Six.

Kinder native and longtime KFDM Beaumont anchor Bill Leger died in an overnight accident in Lafayette Parish. According to Louisiana State Police, Bill was driving south on Louisiana 93 north of Scott, Louisiana, at about 1 a.m. Saturday, when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle ran off the road to the right and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn and come to rest in the northbound lane of Louisiana 93.  Another vehicle was traveling north on Louisiana 93 and struck Bill's vehicle.

Plus, the four year old DeRidder boy authorities say was stabbed to death by his uncle is being laid to rest today. We'll have an update.

Also it's Christmas come a little early for Lake Area children as Millennium Parks is opened for the holidays.

The kids likely needed a light jacket at the park with this cooler weather. Meteorologist Cedric Haynes is in tonight with your forecast and what we can expect for Christmas.

We hope you'll join us for 7 News at Six for these stories and more.
