Crews still working to restore power after winds

Some Southwest Louisiana residents are without power after high winds from the cold front that moved through the area late Wednesday and early Thursday.

According to Beauregard Electric, as of noon, there were about 2,300 members without power scattered through its seven-parish service area. At one time, 4,000 Beauregard Electric outages were reported.

Crews are currently working to restore power.

Beauregard Electric advised around 4 p.m. that a tree on a power line in the New Llano area had affected around 930 members.

Also, in Calcasieu, as of 1 p.m., Entergy was reporting 225 customers without power. At one time, 17,000 Entergy customers were out in the company's service area.

Widespread Entergy outages are also reported in East Texas.
