Gun violence and mental health to be studied

Some parents may still keep their kids at home -- but schools in Newtown, Conn., are opening their doors today for the first time since Friday's deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, which will remain closed.

A senior Republican senator is calling for a study of both gun violence and mental health issues in the aftermath of the Connecticut school shooting.

Police are hoping to solve a cold case involving the hit and run of a Lake Area woman years ago.
