Changing 210 & Nelson - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Changing 210 & Nelson

KPLC News Director Charlie Haldeman is substituting for Agnes DeRouen today.

It's considered one of the fastest growing areas in town and more change is coming.  The 210/Nelson Rd/Cove Lane. is the topic of a public hearing this evening.  We're looking at what LaDOTD is planning for the area of Lake Charles.  The traffic plan comes as construction of the new Ameristar Casino is underway.

That meeting is set for 5 p.m. at the Springhill Suites Marriott on West Prien Lake Rd.

If you're like me, you put off shopping for the holidays.  Our KPLC Community Christmas/Salvation Army Angel Tree efforts this year look like my shopping list:  lots of work left to do.  It's hard to admit it, but our donations are dismal.  We're asking for any non-perishable food items and toys for children under 12.  You can drop them off at Kroger, Wal-Mart, Market Basket, and at the KPLC studios on Division St. in Lake Charles.

In weather, Cedric Haynes says we can expect a warming trend heading into the weekend and there's a chance of rain Sunday.

We'll be on the air at Noon or any time at www.kplctv.com
